Preco Unveils Stinger™: A Modular Scan-Head Option That Gives Its FireFly™ Cross Web System Micro-Perforating Capability

SOMERSET, WI, December 16, 2025 – Preco, LLC, a leading material processing systems designer and manufacturer specializing in laser and die-cutting solutions and contract manufacturing services (CMS), announced the launch of Stinger, a modular laser scan-head option that enables FireFly cross web systems to run machine-direction applications (micro-perforation) without compromising performance, delivering two-machine capability at a fraction of the price.

Designed as an add-on for new Preco Firefly systems, the Stinger slides into position beneath the primary scan head and locks into place, eliminating extra storage, manual swap-outs, and setup complexity. With the Stinger, manufacturers can seamlessly switch between cross web and web-direction jobs on one platform without sacrificing speed, quality, or process control.
