Department: Contract Manufacturing Services Maintenance
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Position Summary
The responsibilities of an Electro-Mechanical Technician I begin with duties of installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Preco equipment. This would include laser, die press, and rotary machines. The next responsibility would be to maintain the facilities' infrastructure to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Determine and perform preventive maintenance to ensure that production machines
continue to run smoothly. - Inspect and perform maintenance on building systems to operate efficiently.
- Diagnose any mechanical problems and determine how to correct them.
- Maintain a computerized maintenance management software system for tracking maintenance activities and equipment history.
- Initiate and carry out projects that improve our efficiency and/or reduce costs.
- Provide technical support and guidance in determining work cell layout and the installation of new equipment.
- Prepare reports, analyze data, and make recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
- Support the development of department programs and procedures.
- Assist in obtaining quotes and arranging for services of outside vendors, as required.
- Manage inventory of spare parts for all equipment.
- Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas.
- Perform other tasks as required.
Job Requirements
- 2-year technical degree in electro-mechanical, laser technology or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in electrical, controls, PLC’s, and electromechanics.
- Knowledge of digital and high & low voltage electronics.
- Motivated individual who can work independently and with teams.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Proficient in communication and documentation skills.
- High proficiency in the following computer skills: MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with a maintenance software program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background with CNC controllers.
- Skilled in pneumatics, hydraulics, programming, and mechanics.
- Laser machinery experience.
- HVAC experience.
- General machining and welding experience.
- Experience with clean room/clean environment.
Physical Demands
- Frequent stooping, bending, and reaching overhead.
- Works with high-voltage electrical equipment.
- Standing and walking most of the day.
- Occasionally pushing, pulling, and lifting up-to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to distinguish colors (wiring).
