High-Speed Multi-Directional Laser Processing

Certain applications for the flexible packaging industry require the laser beam to move across the web for scoring and shape processing. Preco designs FireFly Systems that offer a unique advantage over others in the industry with the use of our AcuPower™ power control. AcuPower automatically adjusts laser power "on-the-fly" based on the beam movement. This technology is essential to the quality and consistency in cross web processing. It allows our systems to hold tight score tolerances throughout a run, from the beginning to the end of a roll, and while the roll handler is speeding up or slowing down.

Applications

Cross Web Scoring – Straight line, controlled-depth scoring in the cross web direction (for easy-open features)
Shape Scoring – for promotional items, pour spouts and product tampering
Microwave Venting - Controlled depth and/or through-cut line segments (dashes/slits)
