Facility Maintenance Technician

Position Title: Facility Maintenance Technician
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor

Position Summary

The Facility Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the installs, repairs, and maintenance of Preco’s machinery and equipment. Additionally, responsibilities include performing regular inspections, carrying out preventative maintenance, and fulfilling other duties such as building utility maintenance (as assigned).

Job Responsibilities

  1. Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas.
  2. Perform preventative, corrective, and periodic maintenance on facility equipment, water and drain, HV/AC, exhaust and supply fans, docks, doors, and other secondary non-production equipment per standardized procedures.
  3. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them.
  4. Perform maintenance and repair to the interior and exterior of building/ seasonal grounds upkeep.
  5. Utilize a computerized maintenance management software system for tracking planned and unplanned maintenance activities and the history of our equipment.
  6. Initiate and carry out projects that improve our efficiency and reduce costs.
  7. Provide support and guidance in determining work cell layout and the installation of new equipment.
  8. Prepare reports, analyze data, and make recommendations for improving plant operations.
  9. Assist in obtaining quotes, submitting procurements, and arranging for services of outside vendors, as required.
  10. Remove trash and material from various areas of the facility as needed to aid in overall cleanliness.
  11. Monitor all facility bathrooms to ensure the functionality of fixtures and utilities.
  12. Perform other tasks as required by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

  • 2-year technical degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Work experience with basic electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, plumbing, carpentry, operating lift trucks, and mechanics.
  • Ability to use a CMMS.
  • Motivated, self-directed individual who can work individually and with minimal direction.
  • Easily follows written and verbal instructions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

  • HV/AC experience.
  • General fabrication and welding experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Clean Room and Clean Environment manufacturing experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent stooping, bending, and reaching overhead.
  • Working outside in inclement weather.
  • Standing and walking most of the day.
  • Occasionally pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors (wiring).
