Key Account Manager

Position Title: Key Account Manager
Department: Contract Manufacturing Services Sales
Reports to: Director of Contract Manufacturing Services Sales 

Position Summary 

Carries out a responsive and proactive sales effort to gain profitable customer orders and help Preco exceed customer’s expectations.  Concentrate on Target Market business opportunities and developing new market segments.  Responsible for assigned and developed Key accounts.

Primary Responsibilities 

  1. Maintains customer communications with existing Key Accounts
    • Cost, Quality, and Delivery reviews on a quarterly or semi-annual basis
    • New Business Development
    • Participates in Major quality issues
  2. Generates accurate forecasting information
  3. Oversees Cost/Quality/Delivery metrics
  4. Continuous Improvement on Ease of Doing Business with Preco
  5. Identifies product life cycle status for Key Accounts and Ensures Continuous Improvement activities as appropriate
  6. Continually identifies new market opportunities and acquires large, long run customer accounts within a specific CMS Target Market
  7. Assists customers in determining suitability of applications
  8. Provides estimates/quotations from customer supplied sketches, drawings, sample parts, or verbal descriptions (using input from programming, production, quality and engineering staff to gain information and support)
  9. Develops pricing structure for specific jobs and assists with overall business unit pricing plans
  10. Actively tracks open quotes and prospects
  11. Leads project teams (writing memos, conducting meetings, scheduling activities, etc.)
  12. Maintains/organizes customer files and marketing/lead management software
  13. Develops, organizes, and completes proactive marketing programs
  14. Designs/develops advertising concepts (mailings, literature, etc.)
  15. Contacts potential and inactive customers to solicit new orders and gain market information
  16. Trains sales engineers, checks teammate’s quotations
  17. Organizes sales and process development demonstrations
  18. Works trade shows and visits customers at their facilities
  19. Other tasks as assigned

Hiring Qualifications

  • Four year degree, preferably in Letters and Sciences or Engineering
  • Additional training in finance/accounting/business helpful
  • Four years sales/industrial experience
  • Ability to read blueprints, specifications and purchase agreements/orders
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, written communication and computer skills
  • Good understanding of laser processing methods, CNC programming, dimensional tolerancing
  • 10-20% travel
